CBS RADIO Sports WJZ-F (105.7 THE FAN)/BALTIMORE reporter/host and former MID-ATLANTIC SPORTS NETWORK ORIOLES reporter JENNIFER ROYLE is suing rival Sports WNST-A (NASTY 1570) owner and host "NASTY NESTOR" APARICIO and WNST hosts GLENN CLARK and DREW FORRESTER for defamation, reports the BALTIMORE SUN.
ROYLE, who is seeking $800,000 in damages, alleges that APARICIO and his hosts made negative statements about her on the air, in blogs, and on TWITTER, calling her incompetent, saying she was involved in sexual relationships with athletes, and looking like a stripper and "trashy."
APARICIO's attorney STEPHEN L. MILES told the SUN that ROYLE is a public figure and thus subject to whatever people want to say about her.
APARICIO wrote in a blog post that the suit is "so outrageous that my mind can’t get around how these baseless accusations could ever enter a court of law... 'Anybody can sue anybody for anything' is more than just a credo I’ve heard or read elsewhere.... You can search anywhere on the internet you like and you will not find a shred of evidence that we’ve ever said or done anything more than tell the truth about her journalism skills and her outlandish behavior."
