WASHINGTON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE has refiled for the transfer of low-power Alternative FM WSUB-F (formerly WRBZ-LP) (96.7 THE BUZZ)/ASHAWAY, RI to THE BUZZ ALTERNATIVE RADIO FOUNDATION INC. for no consideration. The transfer was originally filed in JANUARY.
In other filings on another light day at the FCC, Partners TRENT L. COGGINS and SCOTT MATHESON have closed on the purchase of SAMUEL F. GRENEKER's 33.3% share of SMALLTOWN BROADCASTING, LLC, licensee of Talk WDDQ (TALK 92.1)/ADEL, GA, Talk WJHC (TALK 107.5)/JASPER, FL, and Sports WJEM-A and W241BG (THE JOCK)/VALDOSTA, GA, for $75,000, and, regarding a related previous deal, WJEM, INC. closed on the sale of WJEM-A to SMALLTOWN for $190,000.
VERMONT STATE COLLEGES has entered a Consent Decree with the Commission over late license renewal filing, ownership report, and public file violations at noncommercial WVTC/RANDOLPH CENTER, VT, agreeing to pay a "voluntary contribution" of $8,500 to the U.S. Treasury and to follow a compliance plan to settle the issue.
The Commission settled a dispute over a new noncommercial FM construction permit in COOKEVILLE, TN by granting CATHOLIC SOCIAL CLUB OF PUTNAM COUNTY, TENNESSEE, INC.'s application over a petition to deny by ROANE STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, which asserted that CATHOLIC SOCIAL CLUB was hiding the "real party in interest," a KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS chapter. The Commission reversed a staff ruling that CATHOLIC SOCIAL CLUB's application overlapped with two other stations' contours.
SOUTHERN ELECTRONICS CO.'s silent WONA-A/WINONA, MS has been deleted from the FCC database. The station, with 1,000 watts days and 25 watts at night, went silent on JUNE 1, 2010 and was cancelled by the Commission on TUESDAY (4/5).
And construction permits for two stations were dismissed, with TRUE NORTH COMMUNITY COLLEGE's application for 94.3 FM in HAYWARD, WI dismissed for failure to prosecute and ACTIVIST SAN DIEGO's application for 89.9 FM in RAMONA, CA dismissed by letter two and a half years after it was reinstated (it had been dismissed a month earlier for violating Mexican treaties).
