The listeners of KSBJ EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION Christian AC KSBJ/HOUSTON donated more than $42,000 in the recent “MARCH FOR OUR MILITARY” campaign. KSBJ partnered with the EAGLE'S WATCH FOUNDATION to lighten the load for the military by collecting gift cards for military families in need.
KSBJ was on the air and out into the community for the entire month of MARCH for the cause. Listeners donated gift cards of all amounts from various retailers including TARGET, WAL-MART, CVS, COSTCO and HOME DEPOT to help with household and personal needs. VISA gift cards were also accepted to help cover health care and medical expenses, doctor’s fees and prescriptions.
“This donation represents more than 1000 percent increase in gifts we have received due to current economic circumstances,” says EAGLE'S WATCH FOUNDATION Pres. DAVID MINYARD. “KSBJ listeners are amazing!”
“We are all in debt to the men and women who put their own life on the line every day in service of our country. KSBJ is blessed to take part in this initiative to provide assistance to military families,” said KSBJ President/GM TIM McDERMOTT. “As always, our listeners and the community did not hesitate to lend a hand and hope to those who make enormous sacrifices for us. This is truly a proud moment not only for KSBJ but for the entire HOUSTON area.”
