Danny Gokey To Appear In Made-For-TV Movie, Continues Charity Work

19/RCA NASHVILLE artist DANNY GOKEY is appearing in the made for TV film “Truth Be Told,” which airs at 8p (ET) on SATURDAY, APRIL 16th on FOX-TV. GOKEY has a small roll in the movie, which also stars CANDACE CAMERON BURE, DAVID JAMES ELLIOTT and RONNY COX. GOKEY has some speaking lines and also performs in the film.
GOKEY said, ““I’m playin’ myself, but the storyline behind myself is fictional. I’m livin’ in, I believe NEW MEXICO, and I got a ranch out there –- a nice, multi-million dollar ranch –- and I live next to another millionaire, and he brings me in to sing for some of his friends. And it was great, man. I love…man, I love bein’ in front of the camera, so that was a great opportunity, and it’s just cool.”
In other DANNY GOKEY, news the 2nd Annual DANNY GOKEY CRUISE benefiting GOKEY’s charity SOPHIA’S HEART will take place FEBRUARY 2ND through the 6TH, 2012, and will hit MIAMI, KEY WEST and COZUMEL, MEXICO.
Among the programs of SOPHIA’S HEART is the ongoing COMPASSION NASHVILLE PROJECT. DANNY unveiled his vision for the initiative earlier this year, as SOPHIA’S HEART works to transform a long-dormant EAST NASHVILLE facility into a resource for the community. The building, received as a $2.6 million charitable donation, covers more than four acres and close to 77,000 square feet. The building will ultimately serve as a transitional home for up to 30 pre-qualified families, as well as offering tutoring in literacy and life skills, job training, and more.
