The SHAW family, from whose company CORUS ENTERTAINMENT spun off, and entities owned or controlled by the SHAWs have completed the purchase of 250,000 additional Class B non-voting shares of CORUS. The shares were purchased last week and leave the SHAWS and their related companies with 7,715,667 shares (Class A voting and Class B non-voting combined) of CORUS.
SHAW COMMUNICATIONS is a major cable television and Internet operator in CANADA, mostly in the western provinces. It spun off CORUS in 1999 as a separate independent company, and, through subsidiary SHAW MEDIA, owns the GLOBAL TELEVISION NETWORK and its owned-and-operated stations, plus several cable networks in CANADA.
