Radio News Networks Offer Special Coverage Of Bin Laden's Death

Radio news networks offered special coverage of the death of OSAMA BIN LADEN late SUNDAY, scrambling to get additional reports and coverage on the air as word spread of the terrorist leader's demise.
ABC NEWS RADIO went to special live anchored coverage overnight, with status reports offered four times per hour and an unanchored feed also available. The network will also provide a one-hour special, "OSAMA BIN LADEN: THE DEATH OF PUBLIC ENEMY #1," to be fed at 7:06p (ET) with refeeds at 8:06p, 9:06p and 10:06p; the special will also be posted on the affiliate feed website.
Meanwhile, SALEM RADIO NETWORK produced and aired a live three-hour instant special, "OSAMA BIN-LADEN: JUSTICE AT LAST," anchored bu SRN VP/News and Talk Programming TOM TRADUP with WHITE HOUSE correspondent GREG CLUGSTON, AMERICAS FOR VICTORY OVER TERRORISM SETH LEIBSOHN, and SRN PENTAGON correspondent Col. ROBERT MAGINNIS. Along with the special, the network fed special reports for three hours at :20 and :40 after the hour.
CBS RADIO NEWS is offering affiliates a wrap-up and a longform special report on the BIN LADEN killing. The three-minute special report, "THE KILLING OF OSAMA BIN LADEN," anchored by JIM TAYLOR, will be fed at 5:10p (ET)and posted and posted on the affiliate feed website. The longform special with the same title, anchored by SAM LITZINGER, will feed at 6:10p (ET) and posted at the website in three formats: longform with PSAs, podcast with no PSAs, and five 8-minute segments with no PSAs. The first three segments also stand as a separate half hour broadcast.
