Texas Station Owner Released From Jail After Surrendering Driver's License

TEXAS radio station owner STEPHEN YATES has been released from POLK COUNTY JAIL after agreeing to relinquish his driver's license until 2017. The LUFKIN DAILY NEWS reports that Judge ELIZABETH COKER gave YATES the option of surrendering his license and wearing an alcohol monitoring device as an alternative to returning to prison to serve the remainder of his 10 year DWI sentence.
YATES was denied bond after being arrested on APRIL 14th in LUFKIN for driving a vehicle not equipped with a breathalyzer lock as required by his 10-year probation; he was on probation after his third DWI conviction in 2007.
