Sen. DeMint Named Ranking Member Of Senate Communications Subcommittee

Sen. JIM DEMINT (R-SC) has been tapped to replace the departing Sen. JOHN ENSIGN (R-NV) as ranking member of the Senate Communications Subcommittee, according to BROADCASTING AND CABLE's JOHN EGGERTON.
DEMINT has voted a conservative line on communications issues, including defunding of public broadcasting and blocking the FCC's net neutrality rules. ENSIGN resigned from the Senate under a cloud this month as the Department of Justice investigates his affair with the wife of a former staffer.
