Journal VP Of Radio Programming Tom Land Dies

TOM LAND, VP/Radio Programming for JOURNAL BROADCASTING GROUP, lost his battle with cancer THURSDAY. LAND was 51 and had battled stage-4 lung cancer that had metastasized to his bones since AUGUST.
LAND joined JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP in 2000 as OM for the company's OMAHA operations. He was promoted to Dir./Radio Programming for the company in 2006; in 2008 he also took on the role of Dir./Operations for the company’s MILWAUKEE-based radio stations, added PD duties for Talk WTMJ-A in JANUARY 2009, and was given VP stripes in DECEMBER 2010. Before working for JOURNAL, LAND served as PD at CUMULUS, KUDL/KANSAS CITY, and KEYN and KQAM-A/WICHiTA.
