CLEAR CHANNEL is selling five stations in MERIDIAN, MS to CLAY HOLLADAY's MISSISSIPPI BROADCASTERS, LLC for an undisclosed price that will see two of the stations spun off to NEW SOUTH COMMUNICATIONS, INC., and other stations going to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION and MERIDIAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION.
The trading starts with the sale of Country WMSO (MISS 101), Urban WZKS (KISS 104.1), Gospel WYHL-A, Hot AC WJDQ (95Q) and Urban WHTU (HOT 97.9), all presently owned by CLEAR CHANNEL and programmed by URBan RADIO under a time brokerage agreement, to MISSISSIPPI BROADCASTERS. Finally, MISSISSIPPI BROADCASTERS will donate Classic Hits WKZB (106.9 THE BUZZ) to the MERIDIAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION.
MEDIA SERVICES GROUP's GEORGE R. REED served as CLEAR CHANNEL and URBan RADIO's representative for the deal.
