San Francisco May 2011: KCBS-A, KQED Make News
After dropping to #2 behind KQED PUBLIC MEDIA Talk KQED-F in APRIL, CBS RADIO News KCBS-A was back on top P6+ in MAY in SAN FRANCISCO with 6.3. #2 KQED scored 5.9, while #3 ENTERCOM AC KOIT registered 5.0. KCBS-A has been #1 or #2 P6+ every month over the past year. KQED-F was #1 P25-54 in MAY, and has been #1 or #2 in that demo every month over the past year.
WILD Month: CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Rhythmic KYLD (WILD 94.9) showed major share growth in multiple demos (see Top Demo Gainers below), and made big moves in rank as well. Though WILD’s P18-34 share was up slightly, #1 CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Rhythmic KMEL was up more and held off #2 WILD, while CBS RADIO Top 40/Mainstream KMVQ (99.7 NOW) was #3 in the demo.

Dallas-Ft. Worth May 2011: KISS #1; KDGE and JACK Top Demo Gainers
CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KHKS (106.1 KISS-FM) maintained its #1 position P6+ in DALLAS-FT. WORTH in MAY with 6.2. CUMULUS Country KPLX rose from #3 to #2 with 5.4 and UNIVISION Regional Mexican KLNO (RECUERDO) fell from #2 to #3 with 5.2. KISS also kept its #1 position P25-54.
CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative KDGE and CBS RADIO Adult Hits KJKK (JACK) scored the biggest share percentage growth among the Top 10, in multiple demos, in MAY (see Top Demo Gainers below). JACK also tacked on another month of share growth to an already existing northward trend (see Snapshot Trends below).

Houston-Galveston May 2011: KODA #1 Again; KRBE Pops
CLEAR CHANNEL AC KODA (SUNNY 99.1) was #1 P6+ in HOUSTON-GALVESTON in MAY (8.0), adding an eighth month onto a string of #1s in a row. With 6.4, RADIO ONE Top 40/Rhythmic KBXX (97.9 THE BOX) was #2, also for the eighth month in a row, and RADIO ONE Urban AC KMJQ (MAJIC 102) was #3, for the second straight month (5.9). KODA retained the #1 spot P25-54 while KSBJ EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION Contemporary Christian KSBJ rose #5t to #2t, tied with CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative KTBZ (94.5 THE BUZZ).
CUMULUS Top 40/Mainstream KRBE popped the most share percentage growth within the Top 10 in a couple of demos (see Top Demo Gainers below),though at #6 P18-34, KRBE still trailed #1 97.9 THE BOX and #4t CBS Top 40/M KKHH (HOT 95-7).

San Diego May 2011: CHANNEL 933 Dialed In
CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KHTS (CHANNEL 933) topped SAN DIEGO’s P6+ ranking for the fourth month in a row in MAY with 6.5. #2 CLEAR CHANNEL AC KMYI (STAR 94.1) was close behind with 6.2, and MIDWEST TELEVISION Adult Hits KFMB-F (100.7 JACK FM) tied for #3 with LOCAL MEDIA Rhythmic AC XHRM (MAGIC 92.5) (4.8). STAR, JACK, and CHANNEL 933 were #1, #2, and #3 respectively P25-54.
Rising STAR: Rising from #2 to #1 P35-64, STAR 94.1 added another consecutive month of share growth in the demo (see Snapshot Trends below) while CBS Radio AC KYXY was down, #3t to #4.
LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Country KSON vaulted from #11 to #5t P6+, going 3.7 to 4.7 (see Top Demo Gainers below), but was up much less dramatically in other demos. UNIVISION Spanish Adult Hits KQLV (RECUERDO 102.9) was the station in the Top 10 with the largest share percentage growth in multiple demos.
