NPR Trying To Convince Affiliates To Use Its Digital Services

NPR is trying to sell affiliates on its new digital initiative that would have member stations outsource some of its online services to the network, reports the WALL STREET JOURNAL.
The network is on a 10-week, 18-city "road show" to convince its 268 affiliates to use its suite of digital services, the JOURNAL says, which would mean an additional stream of revenue for the network while offering the stations a way to share resources. The new services were tested with a dozen affiliates and are now being rolled out as an offering to all stations under a plan approved by the NPR board in FEBRUARY.
