Changes are brewing at COX/HOUSTON as next MONDAY, JUNE 20TH Alternative KHPT(106.9 THE ZONE) will start simulcasting sister Classic Rock/Classic Hits KGLK (107.5 THE EAGLE) . THE EAGLE will occupy both 106.9 and its current home 107.5.

PD KEVIN VARGAS remains in the building to help with the transition. 

VP COX HOUSTON MARK KRIESCHEN explains “THE EAGLE’s Classic Hits format, anchored by the DEAN AND ROG SHOW, will have the largest coverage area in southeast TEXAS. Combining the format on both frequencies will super-serve the entire metro market and beyond, and offer our brand to a wider listening audience. The 107.5 FM signal has very strong coverage in the SOUTHWEST region of our market while 106.9 FM is robust in the NORTHWEST”
