Detroit - June 2011: WYCD Back In Pole Position In Motor City

CBS RADIO Country WYCD returned to #1 P6+ in DETROIT in JUNE with 6.4. Last time WYCD had #1 to itself was in FEBRUARY. CBS RADIO Sports WXYT-F (97.1 THE TICKET) dropped to #2 (6.3) and CBS RADIO Classic Hits WOMC fell from #2 to #3 (5.9). WYCD’s growth was broad, putting the station into the Top 5 P18-49, P25-54 and P35-64 (see Top Demo Gainers below).

Phoenix - June 2011: Jamz, KMXP New #1s

After hitting #2 three times over the past year, CBS Top 40/Rhythmic KZON (101.5 JAMZ) reached #1 P6+ in PHOENIX in JUNE (5.7), tied with CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC KMXP (MIX 96.9), which had not been #1 since NOVEMBER. CBS RADIO Classic Hits KOOL fell from #1 to #3 (5.3). MIX 96.9 also was #1 P25-54.

CLEAR CHANNEL Smooth Jazz KYOT, #4t P6+ (4.9), has been on a roll since transitioning to its current format at the end of last year, adding P35-64 share four months in a row, rising from #6 to #4 in JUNE. CLEAR CHANNEL AC KESZ was ahead of KYOT at #2 in the demo, though KESZ’s share has dropped over the same four months (see Snapshot Trends below).

San Diego - June 2011: Channel 933 Dialed In; Big Month Fort The Walrus

CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 KHTS (CHANNEL 933) was #1 P6+ in SAN DIEGO in JUNE scoring a 7.1. CLEAR CHANNEL AC KMYI (STAR 94.1) was #2 (6.8) and LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Country KSON was in the top 3 for the first time this year, tied with LOCAL MEDIA Rhythmic AC XHRM (MAGIC 92.5) (4.9).

BCA Classic Hits XPRS-F (105.7 THE WALRUS) popped a big month, in multiple demos, and pushed past CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock KGB P25-54 (#8 vs. #9) and held its position ahead of KGB P35-64 (#6 vs. #7t), though KGB had the largest share percentage growth in that demo (see Top Demo Gainers below).

STAR 94.1 was #1 P25-54 while CHANNEL 933 moved up to #2, dropping MIDWEST TELEVISION Adult Hits KFMB-F (100.7 JACK FM) to #3. CBS Radio AC KYXY and MAGIC 92.5, each tied for #4 in MAY, remained #4t in JUNE.

Kansas City - June 2011: KQRC #1; Jack Gets Jacked In KC

ENTERCOM Active Rock KQRC was #1 P6+ in KANSAS CITY in JUNE with 6.6. KQRC pushed last month’s #1, WILKS Top 40 KMXV’s (MIX 93.3), to #2 despite increasing 6.2 to 6.5, and CUMULUS Classic Rock KCFX (101 THE FOX) grew 5.9 to 6.1 but fell in rank, #2t to #3. KQRC also was #1 P18-34 and P25-54, where a block of rock capped the rankings with CUMULUS Classic Rock KCFX (101 THE FOX) at #2 and ENTERCOM Alternative KRBZ (96.5 THE BUZZ) at #3.

CUMULUS Adult Hits KCJK (105.1 JACK FM) was up, in some cases by a lot, in multiple demos in JUNE including adding 100% share growth P18-34, boosting it ten spots in that demo’s ranker (see Top Demo Gainers below).
