Virginia, Utah Construction Permits Sold; More EMF-CC Translator Move-Ins In Twin Cities

ROANOKE VALLEY COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is selling the construction permit for a new FM at EMPORIA, VA to HAMPTON ROADS EDUCATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATION, INC. for $217,000.
In other filings with the FCC, FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF NEPHI, UTAH is selling noncommercial FM construction permit KBJF/NEPHI, UT to CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. for $35,000.
FRIENDS OF PUBLIC RADIO, INC. is asking the FCC for a Silent STA for FM translator W255BZ/MYRTLE BEACH, SC due to tower lease problems.
HANMI BROADCASTING, INC. has requested a Silent STA for WPBC-A/DECATUR, GA after an LMA ended abruptly.
And AZTECA COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for WGTA-A/SUMMERVILLE, GA due to an "air conditioning problem" at its transmitter site.
More FM Translators Seek Move-In To Minneapolis
Two more FM translators owned by EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION have been proposed for move-ins to MINNEAPOLIS' IDS CENTER, reports UPPER MIDWEST BROADCASTING. EMF has filed to move K249ED/ALBERTVILLE, MN to downtown with 60 watts and K260BA/COON RAPIDS to move to the IDS CENTER building with 250 watts. Both specify CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KTLK-F (NEWS TALK 100.3)/MINNEAPOLIS as the primary station; EMF moved K278BP/COTTAGE GROVE to the same rooftop last year and sold it to CLEAR CHANNEL, which specified KTLK-F as the primary and uses the station to transmit KTLK's HD2 channel, relaying Sports KFAN-A/MINNEAPOLIS.
