At a time when unemployment rates dominate the news, JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP/WICHITA is using an innovative approach to find qualified job candidates. "Careers in Radio" is a half-hour webcast aimed at promoting job opportunities currently available at the stations and numerous career options in broadcasting. The live web broadcast will stream simultaneously across all six of the stations' websites from 12:30-1p CT on THURSDAY, JULY 28th.
The live webcast was an idea that developed internally. "Now that we have PERISCOPE DIGITAL MEDIA on board to produce broadcast quality video for our customers, we decided to take a look at ways we could use our new digital video production capabilities to recruit future employees," said VP/GM ERIC MCCART. "In brainstorming ways to do that, we came up with 'Careers in Radio.' We hope it will help attract people who may not previously have thought about pursuing a career in this industry while also recruiting the right, top-performing candidates for the positions we currently have available."
