The FCC has issued an $8,000 fine against SOUTHERN ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY for public file violations at noncommercial WSMC/COLLEGEDALE, TN. The fine was reduced from $10,000 due to a history of compliance with the rules.
In addition, the Commission fined TEXAS EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING CO-OPERATIVE, INC. $8,700 for public file violations and additional violations of rules against foreign ownership at noncommercial KOOP/HORNSBY, TX. The station admitted that two members of its board -- more than 20% control -- were aliens; the fine was reduced from $15,000 due to financial hardship.
