Politician GILLES DUCEPPE won't be joining the CBC's RADIO-CANADA French-language LA PREMIERE CHAINE radio network as a commentator for "MEDIUM LARGE" after all.
DUCEPPE, the former leader of the political party BLOC QUEBECOIS and a member of Parliament until last MAY, has decided not to appear as a weekly commentator on the show starting AUGUST 22nd as scheduled, and the CBC reports that DUCEPPE backed off after being told that he could not talk about politics under the network's "cooling off" policy. Ex-politicians are required under the policy to wait two years after leaving politics before commenting or reporting on political issues.
DUCEPPE lost his seat in Parliament on MAY 2nd in the election that proved calamitous for the BLOC QUEBECOIS, which lost most of its seats and lost official party status.
