SONY MUSIC held an intimate PEARL JAM TWENTY Screening on THURSDAY (8/18) evening in LOS ANGELES. The stunning two-hour documentary honoring PEARL JAM’s 20th Anniversary is told by ACADEMY AWARD-winning director and music journalist CAMERON CROWE.
The film includes rarely and never-before-seen footage, plus recently shot concert and interview footage. PEARL JAM TWENTY chronicles the years leading up to the band’s formation after MOTHER LOVE BONE's ANDREW WOOD's tragic death, the chaos that ensued soon-after their rise to mega-stardom, their step back from center stage, and the creation of a work culture that would sustain them.
PEARL JAM TWENTY debuts at the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10th. Three days later a PEARL JAM TWENTY book will be released. Then the documentary will rollout worldwide on SEPTEMBER 20th in select theaters and the PEARL JAM 20 SOUNDTRACK -- a double CD featuring 29 songs -- will be released on the same day. The film will then be on PBS-TV on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21st at 9p (PT/ET). The DVD arrives worldwide on OCTOBER 25th. Check out the trailer for the film by clicking here.
"Crown Of Thorns," a MOTHER LOVE BONE, cover song is the first song released from the PEARL JAM 20 SOUNDTRACK. It was performed live for the first time ever at PEARL JAM's 10th Anniversary Show in LAS VEGAS.
