KCXX Pulls Off "Cat Stunt" On Morning Show

ALL-PRO Alternative KCXX (X 103.9)/RIVERSIDE-SAN BERNARDINO morning show DOUG DUROCHER, JENNIFER CARR, and producer CISCO stirred up a lot of publicity this morning (5/11) after placing a stuffed cat in a basket and sent it airborne, floating over SAN BERNARDINO.
The prank started with DOUG, JENN, and CISCO speculating on how many helium balloons it would take to float the engineer’s cat MR. TINKLES in a small wicker basket. Then in the parking lot they "accidentally" let the cat float out of reach and into the air over the INLAND EMPIRE. Needless to say, the incident lit up the phone lines with angry listeners. ANIMAL CONTROL and several SAN BERNARDINO POLICE officers showed up at the station to question DOUG, JENN, AND CISCO about the incident.
"We wanted to do an APRIL FOOL’s type stunt but on a day when no one would expect it," said DOUG DUROCHER, co-host of "MORNINGS WITH DOUG & JENN." "We thought we would rile some callers up, but we had no idea just how seriously the INLAND EMPIRE would be effected. We had people crying, threatening to report us to the authorities, and actual physical threats."
KCXX PD JOHN DESANTIS said,"I wasn’t sure how the prank would play out, but with the flawless execution and performance of our morning show, it couldn’t have gone any better. What until you see what they’ve got coming up next!"
In the meantime, X 103.9 won't be revealing the stunt to listeners until FRIDAY morning at 7:20a.
