Tony Travatto Named OM Clear Channel/Columbus, PD WNCI
October 12, 2011 at 10:31 AM (PT)
CLEAR CHANNEL/SAN ANTONIO OM TONY TRAVATTO has resigned that post, where he was also PD at Top 40 KXXM (MIX 96.1) for the past six years, to become OM at CLEAR CHANNEL/COLUMBUS, including Top 40 WNCI, Country WCOL, Classic Hits WLZT (Oldies 93.3 FM), Adult Hits WBWR (THE BREW 105.7), Gen X WCGX, Talk WTVN-A, Sports WYTS-A and day-to-day PD at WNCI.
TRAVATTO is replacing TONY FLORENTINO at WNCI, and OM JOHN CRENSHAW, who stayed on and now oversees programming at WCOL. No word on who fills the slot at CLEAR CHANNEL/SAN ANTONIO.
Speaking about his new post, TRAVATTO told ALL ACCESS, "I think everybody in radio has a handful of really special stations, and WNCI has always been one of those special stations to me. I have long been a fan of (Morning Zoo) DAVE & JIMMY and (afternooner) CHRIS DAVIS and am looking forward to working with (MD/night personality) SEAN CAGE.
"To be able to work with the great minds on 'NCI and the other stations is going to be a great learning and rewarding experience for me. The brain power on the other stations in the cluster -- WCOL, WTVN, WLZT, WBWR, WCGX and WYTS -- is impressive and exciting.
"I am going to miss working with our SAN ANTONIO staff and PAM McKAY, one of the finest Market Managers in the business, SVPP GENE ROMANO and EVP/Operations SUSAN KARIS. But am looking forward to working with the COLUMBUS staff and Market Manager BRIAN DYTKO, SVPP JON ZELLNER and EVP/Operations MARK KOPELMAN."
