The JACOBS MEDIA TECHSURVEY 8 goes beyond just surveying Rock formats -- it's now going to include stations in all major format categories -- making it the largest and most inclusive radio survey of its type, ever deployed.
The study goes into the field in late JANUARY, 2012 ... so there is still time to sign up!
The results of this year's JACOBS MEDIA TECHSURVEY 8 will be presented for the first time, exclusively at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT, at the W HOTEL in HOLLYWOOD -- APRIL 27th-28th, at noon on FRIDAY APRIL 27th, by JACOBS MEDIA Pres. FRED JACOBS.

FRED JACOBS told ALL ACCESS, "We're embarking on something very exciting by opening up the survey to all formats. In this way, we can take something that has become an integral set of analytics for Rock radio, and we're offering participation to stations across the U.S. from a wide variety of formats, such as:
* Top 40/Mainstream
* Top 40/Rhythmic
* Hot AC/AC
* Mainstream/Active Rock
* Classic Rock/Classic Hits
* Triple A
* Urban AC
* Variety Hits
* Adult Hits
"Topics include traditional media usage (TV, radio), as well as new media YOUTUBE, HULU, FACEBOOK, TWITTER, iHEARTRADIO, PANDORA and more, including gadgets like smartphones, tablets and more. Additionally, the survey will cover station-related activities -- FACEBOOK pages, streaming, podcasts, etc. In TECHSURVEY 8, we will drill even deeper into social media and mobile -- areas that really matter to broadcasters. We will also continue our in-depth look at PANDORA, as well as services like GROUPON and LIVING SOCIAL."
FRED continued, "The goal of this study is to provide radio with a media usage hierarchy -- which we depict in the form of 'pyramids' -- that illustrate the media and gadgetry that listeners use, and the degree to which they use them. And because our goal is to include these formats, we will be able to create these profiles by station types.
"We're most pleased to be able to present this body of important data first at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT. It's a terrific gathering of radio, music, social and digital executives, and is the perfect setting to roll out this information, first."
ALL ACCESS President/Publisher JOEL DENVER added, "JACOBS MEDIA TECHSURVEY 8 will be a truly informative must-see event and we're thrilled to be able to give JACOBS MEDIA TECHSURVEY 8 its exclusive debut at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT with FRED's presentation on FRIDAY APRIL 27th at 12 noon.
How Do You Participate?
Any station in the above-listed formats can participate in two ways:
1. A small participation fee for local station data. JACOBS MEDIA will survey their database (up to 400 completed interviews). Stations receive their local market data, the total survey data, their format data, and their own media usage pyramid. These stations will also be able to participate in a free webinar from JACOBS and ALL ACCESS that reviews the data this coming spring.
Top 20 markets: $500
Markets 21-50: $400
Markets 51+: $300
2. No fee. If stations elect to not pay the fee, they can still participate in the study. While they will not receive local data or a media usage pyramid for their station, they will receive an infographic that summarizes some of the surveys key national findings, as well as participation in the free webinar.
JACOBS MEDIA handles all details of the study, and supplies email copy and all technical aspects of participation. The study will be fielded in late JANUARY, and presented on FRIDAY, APRIL 27th at 12 noon at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2012.
Sign up now! Stations can visit www.jacobsmedia.com/techsurvey8 to fill out a short form and will be contacted shortly thereafter to confirm their participation.
