Valentine's Day is coming:
It's hard to believe, but another holiday is just around the corner! Stressed out about how you'll afford a nice dinner on Valentine's Day? Fear not --the good folks over at the White Castle burger chain have you covered. PEREZ HILTON reports the fast food chain is taking reservations that night and even offering downloadable, romantic photos for customers. (Lee)
The Weather:
Japan just can't catch a break.
Researchers say there's a 70-percent chance Tokyo will be hit by a magnitude-7-plus earthquake by 2016, about 25 years sooner than the Japanese government had estimated.
Reason for the change in timeline: New seismic activity since last year's devastating quake and tsunami. The government's 30-year prediction is based on data before the March 11 quake.
If a magnitude-7.3 earthquake hits under northern Tokyo Bay, up to 11-thousand people could die and about 850-thousand buildings would destroyed. (Maiman)Trolling for publicity:
Are you looking for a slick ride that can navigate the sleet, snow and rain this winter? PAMELA ANDERSON has a great deal for 'ya! The buxom blonde has put her 2007 Range Rover on eBay's auction block and plans to donate the proceeds to SEAN PENN's charity for Haitian relief. Pammy admits the SUV has some issues --her ex-husband TOMMY LEE borrowed it for a month and left scratches on the driver's side seat with his wallet chains.
As of press time, the top bid was $29,999 and the auction ends Thursday at 7:31 pm (Pacific). (Lee)On, off and way-off Broadway:
NICK JONAS takes over from "Glee" star DARREN CRISS in Broadway's revival of "How to Succeed With Business Without Really Trying" tonight. Darren did the last three weeks, replacing DANIEL RADCLIFFE, who left the role on New Year's Eve.
Going Geek-dot-com /Caught in the Web:
If you thought a day without Wikipedia was bad, how do you feel about a 24-hour Facebook shutdown? The notorious hacker network Anonymous is threatening a January 28th attack on the social networking giant.
A YouTube video released Monday offers instructions for downloading and running a hacking tool to help launch the attack at midnight Saturday. Comments on the video bring up an interesting question: Why would Anonymous want to crash Facebook? Others suggest this isn't an authentic video. (Page)Grace notes:
RIHANNA is the most viewed female artist on YouTube. She just passed the two-billion mark, beating LADY GAGA, who reached that mark in October of 2010 but hasn't really improved on it. Rihanna's "We Found Love" video has been viewed 115 million times in three months. Gaga's most recent clip, "Marry The Night," has only been looked at 31 million times. Both ladies pale in comparison to YouTube's all time champ, JUSTIN BIEBER. He has a total of 2.2 billion views. (Marino)
