Yes!
It's 2010, and here we go, starting off once again on what will be another fabulous year. There are many things we can accomplish this year, so get set for another outstanding set of opportunities as well as challenges in the new year.
It does feel like 2010 will be a year of prosperity and renewal, and that is very exciting. But it's time for you to make an assessment of your career and where you go from here. I have developed some basic questions to ask yourself as we kick off this year. How will you answer these three important questions?
1.) How was your 2009?
This is an important question. Not because of what actually happened with your career in '09, but how you PERCEIVE what happened with your career in '09. If you view yourself as having "gone backwards" last year and paint yourself with a negative momentum subconscious message, then there is no reason for you to start going forwards this year. A body in motion continues in motion in the same direction until acted on by other forces. Don't fall into the trap of feeling bad about your past; 2009 is just as "over" as the Pelloponesian war. If you feel "bad" about last year, you should expect more "bad" this year. Last year was a positive LEARNING experience -- and was very, very valuable as exactly that.
2.) What are your goals for 2010?
There is no way to achieve anything positive in the future unless you set your sights on the achievement today. By setting these goals, you set the road map for your career year. Be as specific as possible and write out your goals. If you want to achieve it, you must first visualize it. By specific, be sure you are showing what job you want to have, where you would like to have it, and by when you would want to have it. Keep these goals in front of you at all times and look at them several times daily. This will train your subconscious mind to be on the lookout for the answer to your goal.
3.) Who will be on your team?
You cannot win on your own. You need folks championing your cause to help pull you through. No one wins any meaningful victory by themselves. So the question becomes "who?" Who will you call on to help you get through the difficult periods ... who will help you rise to the next level? Who can you have on your championship team? Think about it and associate only with those who are positive and can help you. 2010 is the time to jettison all your negative and draining so-called "friends." They cannot affect you any longer, since you are headed to achievement in 2010! Good luck and I hope we can help you become even more successful this year!
