Biffy Clyro

"Howl" is the new single from the U.K. trio Biffy Clyro. It is on their seventh studio album titled "Ellipsis," released in July via Warner Brothers. They were aided by producer Rich Costey, while the creative process involved building the songs up in the studio.
Biffly Clyro front-man Simon Neil explained "The whole feel of the album is fun, shackle-free, uninhibited, but still masterfully crafted. On the last three albums I was visualizing concepts for each record, so on "Opposites" or "Puzzle" I wanted them to be one journey, without any sharp left turns," explains the singer. "With this album we just picked the best songs and weren't worried about making it a complete piece of music. I think we wanted to liberate ourselves from feeling that every song we do has to be a rock song, and it was quite nice to embrace different elements in the studio."
Biffy Clyro is a Scottish rock band that formed in 1995 in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire. The trio is made up of Simon Neil (guitar & lead vocals), James Johnston (bass & vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums & vocals). They have released seven studio albums, four of which ("Puzzle," "Only Revolutions," "Opposites" and "Ellipsis") reached the top five in the U.K. Albums Chart, with their sixth studio album, "Opposites" claiming their first U.K. #1 album. After their first three albums, the band expanded their following significantly in 2007 with the release of their fourth, "Puzzle," creating more mainstream songs with simpler rhythms and distancing themselves from the more unusual dissonant style that was present in their previous three albums.
The band is heading to the U.S. and Canada this spring for their first touring stint in North America since 2014. The trio will be joined by Atlanta rockers O'Brother on a tour that will visit 16 cities (with 3 shows in Canada) over the span of three weeks. The road trip kicks off in Las Vegas on March 24th, and will conclude in Washington D.C. on April 15th.
