White Reaper

The Kentucky band, White Reaper released their sophmore album “The World’s Best American Band” via Polyvinyl on April 7th, featuring lead single Judy French.” It is the follow-up to their 2015 collection “White Reaper Does It Again.” "The World's Best American Band" was produced by Kevin Ratterman at his La La Land studio.
Despite its boastfulness, the band isn’t shy about the new record’s title. “Because we are the best,” guitarist & vocalist Tony Esposito said in a press release. “Just like Muhammad Ali was the greatest, you gotta say it out loud for people to believe it.”
The album title may very well be aspirational. When asked about their influences, the members of White Reaper cite Tom Petty, Bob Seeger and Joe Walsh. "Guys that just want to make songs and play songs," Guitarist Hunter Thompson says. "That's what we want to do."
This Louisville group is made up of Tony Esposito, Hunter Thompson, Ryan Hater, Nick Wilkerson and Sam Wilkerson. Many of them have been friends for most of their lives. Esposito met bandmate Hater when the two were in second grade.
Following their hometown album-release show, White Reaper have been out on the road supporting their new album. This tour includes festival dates at Hangout, Bunbury, and Bonnaroo.
