Foo Fighters recently released their newest single since their “Sonic Highways” album in 2015. Via RCA Records, “Run” is the name of this new track and the accompanying music video for it was directed by Foo front-man Dave Grohl. It features each band member sporting old age makeup and performing in a dingy nursing home. The song starts off slow, with Grohl’s voice cooing “Wake up, run for your life with me.” This track will most likely be on their highly-anticiated ninth studio album which has yet to be announced.
Foo Fighters is made up of Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee. Formed in Seattle in 1994, the group was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of Nirvana after the death of Kurt Cobain.
Over the course of the band's career, four of its albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. As of 2015, the band's eight albums have sold 12 million copies in the U.S., and 30 million worldwide.
The band had previously announced several festival dates, as well as shows overseas throughout the summer.
