“Echo” is the name of the newest track from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It can be found on their new album, “Wrong Creatures” released on January 12th via Vagrant/BMG. Longtime Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds collaborator Nick Launay produced the collection. This is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's first album since 2013's “Specter At The Feast.” The album was created in part while drummer Leah Shapiro recovered from a Chiari Malformation.
Still struggling with the sudden loss of his father, front-man Peter Haynes explains, "I find myself writing about death a lot. I find myself having a discussion with death, which sounds dark. For me, it's dark humor." Bandmate, Robert Levon Been added, “We are truly an island – come hell or high water, so it’s usually best to dress accordingly. Though I’m not sure what the proper attire is when drowning in fire. But leather usually goes with everything.”
Originally from San Francisco, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club consists of Peter Hayes (vocal, guitar, harmonica), Robert Levon Been (vocal, bass, guitar) and Leah Shapiro (drums). They have released eight studio albums: “B.R.M.C.” (2001), “Take Them On, On Your Own” (2003), “Howl” (2005), “Baby 81” (2007), “The Effects of 333” (2008), “Beat the Devil's Tattoo” (2010), “Specter at the Feast” (2013) and finally “Wrong Creatures” (2018), as well as several EPs, and live albums.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are currently on a nationwide five-week long tour that concludes February 24th at Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre. They are partnering with Plus 1 for this tour. $1 from each ticket will be donated to War Child which is "a worldwide organization that supports programs aiding women and children dislocated and impacted by war, political unrest, terrorism and poverty."
