Robert DeLong

Robert DeLong has released a new track, “Favorite Color Is Blue,” which features vocals by K.Flay. Also co-written by her and produced by Robert, the single marches forward on a stomping beat, glitch-y bass, resounding handclaps and a rich harmony. It is an accessible, melodic track guided by an enticing vocal blend between the two artists, who sing in various styles over a straightforward beat, a computerized bass line and some mildly haunting keyboard effects. “Favorite Color Is Blue” is his first single since 2015’s “Better Days.” DeLong’s last full-length was “In The Cards,” which was released in 2015.
For his forthcoming album, he fully welcomed fellow writers and producers into his creative orbit for what became new music for 2018 on Glassnote Records. “The process was really different,” he affirms. “As I’ve gotten older, it’s more interesting for me to work with other musicians and artists. You get a perspective on things. The other voice strengthens the final product. It’s an important part of the creation.”
“I’ve always been a fan of K.Flay, and we ran into each other at a local neighborhood haunt,” he says. “We decided to get together in the studio. In true collaborative fashion, you hear certain things I would never typically think of doing and certain things she would never think of doing. As far as the meaning goes, it’s a person’s reaction to the world crumbling. There are a lot of ways you can react. I think of it like somebody losing his or her mind in Echo Park.”
DeLong is an electronic musician based in Denver, Colorado. With a background in percussion and influences from a number of indie rock bands, DeLong's primary genres include house, dubstep, and moombahton. He has released two full-length albums on Glassnote Records; “Just Movement” in 2013 and “In the Cards” in 2015, along with the EP “Long Way Down” in 2014.
Robert Delong recently confirmed to perform at this year’s Panorama Music Festival in New York on July 29th.
