Austin-based duo Black Pistol Fire released their sixth full-length album, LOOK ALIVE, via Black Hill Records on January 29th. The raucous title track is the lead single, which combines the band's signature sound of southern rock, blues, and garage punk fusion with an expansive, ethereal, and cinematic soundscape. The band teamed with co-producer and engineer Jacob Sciba (Gary Clark Jr, Gov’t Mule, Warren Haynes) and mixer Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Chris Stapleton) on the new album.
"Look Alive was written about a car that has been named ‘Psycho 69’ by the subject,” said Black Pistol Fire's Kevin McKeown. “Someone who is fantasizing about leaving everything behind they have come to know for the pursuit of the dark unknown."
Black Pistol Fire is a Canadian-bred duo, Kevin McKeown (guitarist/lead vocalist/songwriter) and Eric Owen (drums/bass synth), currently based out of Austin. They have previously released the following albums: BLACK PISTOL FIRE (2011), BIG BEAT ‘59 (2012), HUSH OR HOWL” (2014), DON’T WAKE THE RIOT (2016) and DEADBEAT GRAFFITi (2017). They have earned a reputation for their powerful live performances at festivals, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Governor's Ball and Riot Fest.
