Cold War Kids

A forthcoming EP and four special concerts in January signal a time of transition for Cold War Kids before the California quartet hits the studio in February to record its third album, set for a summer release.
Behave Yourself is set for release on January 19 via Downtown / Cooperative Music. Frontman Nathan Willett said that the Behave Yourself EP would be a warmup to much grander plans the band has for their third album.
"What we wanted as a band was kind of ambiguous, and we were just in a place where we weren't sure where we wanted to go with it," Willett said of last year's Loyalty. "We're proud of the songs in that record, but where we came out of that was having a much stronger direction and realizing where we needed to go. "Knowing that we're going to go through a more ambitious project for this next record, we wanted to kinda put out this EP for the good old days."
"These songs were recorded some time between 'loyalty' sessions and now. They didn't belong there, but they kept hanging around, starting trouble; made friends, and nsisted that their story be heard".
"We want to take everything we do to the next level and focus more on the craft of songwriting. We're trying to take soul and punk and take them into the future".
