Former front man of The King Blues, iTCH, a.k.a Jonny Fox, is an up-and-coming street music artist from the UK widely known for his smooth raps and tatted style. The talented musician recently unveiled the video for his single "Homeless Romantic," which features Taking Back Sunday's Adam Lazzara. The song was co-written by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. This is iTCH's first US single as a solo artist and will be on his forthcoming album, to be released later this year on Red Bull Records.
"Working with Adam was awesome," says iTCH. "Adam is such a soulful person and we clicked right away. He has a lot of pain in his voice which comes through-he left the booth on fire! He's a very down to earth, humble man, but he becomes a different person with a mic in his hand."
In the video for "Homeless Romantic," a gang of kids take over an abandoned, graffiti-filled warehouse. Director Hannah Lux Davis mixes in intense performances by iTCH and Lazzara with scenes of the group waving flags, smashing bottles, and riding shopping carts around. iTCh has a knack for punctuating his lightning-fast rap verses with a totally singable hook, and the idea of finding hope in despair becomes especially clear with Lazzara's chorus: "May we know that all we know is / We know nothing at all / And when we fall may we dust ourselves off / And sneak in through the back door."
iTCH's past work includes Manifesto Part 1 and Manifesto Part 2 which were free EP's that were part of a series.
He recalls, "It was a way to introduce the new sound that I am doing to America and to the people here in the UK. I like to see my music as kind of a mixture of pop rock and hip-hop, because to me they're the same thing. It's angry, political, street music that come from different planes. That kind of strand melds the two together, and I think that's what the manifestos are doing."
