Run River North

Run River North recently announced their 2016 headline spring tour in support of their sophomore album, "Drinking From A Salt Pond" set for release on February 26th via Nettwerk Records. Working with producer Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids, Matt And Kim), the band leaves behind its familiar folksy roots to craft an ambitious rock album. The lead single, "Run Or Hide," co-written with , Lincoln Parish (formerly of Cage The Elephant), shows that Run River North are exploring bombastic new territory.
Co-penned in Nashville with Nick Brown (Mona, Smoke And Jackal) "Can't Come Down" is a track that effectively brings together Brown's southern sensibilities with classic pop hooks and the band's signature melodies.
"While working with Nick, we talked about what it takes to thrive in a band, pop songs, artists, labels and etc," says front-man Alex Hwang when speaking to Paste. "I think the words and the feelings of the song try to take on some of those conversations."
Hailing from the Valley in L.A., Red River North formed in 2011 and the band consists of Daniel Chae, John Chong, Joe Chun, Alex Hwang, Sally Kang and Jennifer Rim. Their early music was greatly inspired by the band members' Asian-American parents' background. They released their self-titled, debut album, "Run River North" in 2014.
