Futureheads, The

The Futureheads announce the stateside release of The Chaos set to drop June 1st via NYC based indie, Dovecote/CO5 Music. The Chaos, the followup to This Is Not The World, (2008) is a screaming, visceral rock and roll response to our current world, a wild, thrilling ride from start to finish.
Apparently inspired by recent political events, the new album sees The Futureheads take aim at corrupt politicians and greedy bankers. However the Sunderland group haven't lost their sense of fun, with The Chaos being a potential party favorite and set to get an airing on the group's forthcoming tour.
Featuring a globe torn in different directions, The Futureheads have chosen a suitably eye catching artwork design for their cover.
"I think on the last record, the music itself was overshadowed by the back story," guitarist Ross Millard said. "It was almost deemed a comeback, and maybe surprised some people that we made a record and released it in that fashion.
"But now a lot of people are doing that -- the time is right for that kind of independent thinking."
The Futureheads made moves to tread their own path nearly four years ago, making them old hands in the 'do-it-yourself' music climate of today.
"We proved it with the third album, and now we can prove that we are a band that can carry on," said singer Barry Hyde. "A real musician won't see that as the potential end to their career, a real musician will make it work because they're dedicated to the craft."
"Heartbeat Song" is the album's first single at Alternative radio now.
