- 2012 - Hear Me
- 2008 - Kyle Sherman Band
- 2006 - Over You (EP)
1. Give me a snapshot of your history...where have you been, what have you done?
Born in Marshall, TX. Grew up in Joshua, TX. Leader of my church youth group. Leader of the high school "Bible" club. (Yep, I was that guy:) Married my hot - cheer leading - class president - drama acting - high school sweet heart Stacie. We have been married ten years this year! Lived in Fort Worth, TX since we were married. We have two beautiful kids. Layla - 3years old and Eli - 18 months old. We are crazy about those two! I graduated from DBU in 2003 with a Biblical Studies degree. I have been leading worship for the past decade. Our home church is LifeChurch.tv.
2. What does a normal day at home look like for you? Take me from yawn & stretch to nitey nite
Wake up. Start coffee. Have a few minutes of solitude / prayer. Get Stacie off to work. Feed kids breakfast. Drink coffee. Get Kids in bath then dressed and ready for baby sitter (our moms watch the kids during the day). Run on treadmill. Work on new music. Work work work! Make phone calls. Answer email. More music. More work. Stacie home. Dinner with family. We play with kids. Put kids in bed. Watch a few minutes of TV with my woman. Bed. Rinse and repeat.
3. What's the song that you just can't get out of your head right now (from another artist or band). Why do you like it so much?
10,000 Reason by Matt Redman. I just love it. Makes me want to stand in a big group of people and sing it at the top of our lungs.
4. What have been the biggest hurdles so far for you as an artist?
So far the biggest challenges have been juggling the kids in the mornings and evenings. Since Stacie works full-time and has to be out of the house pretty early that means our sitter has to be here extra early and plan to stay late when I'm traveling. We believe God will give the grace needed. :)
5. What's the biggest "God moment" that you've ever experienced, personal or professional?
Bible club nerd landing the cheer leader. Ok ok......Honestly, the biggest God moment probably came this past summer. In July Stacie and I were blessed to go serve orphans in Zambia, Africa. It was one of the greatest weeks of our lives. Complete perspective change. Lit our fires even stronger to spend ourselves in behalf of the hungry and hurting.
6. What's the last book you read?
Steve Jobs biography. I loved it. It's always enlightening to step into the mind and story of a leader and learn what makes them tick. My current reading is Love Does by Bob Goff. One of my favorite lines from Love Does, "...the brand of love Jesus offers is more about presence than undertaking some project". When Stacie and I see a need arise, we want to be people of action. This book speaks straight from a heart of Christ-like servant hood.
7. Tell me about how you became a believer. What caused you to want to serve God in full time ministry?
I grew up in church so I knew the story of the Bible. My best picture of faith came through my mom. It was just the two of us for a number of years before my step dad came along. I watched her hold to her faith in the midst of the tough times only a single mother can understand. She led me to Christ when I was 8 years old. Throughout my high school years God created opportunities for me to be placed in different leadership roles. Signing with RayLynn Records has been such a blessing and truly one of the biggest doors God has opened for my family and I.
8. Take me thru the songs on your debut project, "Hear Me". Tell me a little about them.
Hear me - An honest psalm-like cry for God's ear. I think people will be able to relate because we all have moments when we feel alone.
Come to me - This is the first radio single from the record. It's been such a blessing to hear from folks who came across the song, either from radio or word of mouth, and how it has blessed them.
Fountains - I think we all experience "desert" moments in our walk through life. This song is about the fountain that pulls us through those times.
He prayed for me - Based off of the passage in John 17 when Jesus prayed for Future believers just before he crossed into the garden where he was betrayed.
Hallelujah - Based off of 2 Cor 5:17. In Christ we have been made new. I hope churches will sing His praises with this one.
Heaven - An honest song about the hope we have after loved ones pass on.
Build it on the Rock - An old school jam. A song of declaration.
One true friend - A reminder that When people disappoint, we can always place our trust in Christ.
New life - This one is a smooth old song of thanks to God for living out the words he spoke in The Bible - walking the walk.
You are the only one - This one is an easy-to-sing praise chorus that I hope people will connect with and sing along.
The greatest tear - The passion story wrapped up in a song. This one will always hold a special place in my heart. Such a unique perspective.
Healing coming down - A song about healing and hope coming from a place of brokenness.
9. Tell me about your record label. How did you meet them, what's the partnership like?
I met Bob and Janice simpson, founders of RayLynn Records, when I was the worship pastor at the Fort Worth campus of LifeChurch.tv. It's a wonderful partnership. The best relationships are based on trust and this one is no exception. RayLynn Records has given me an amazing outlet to express what God has put in my heart.
10. Person you'd most like to have a discussion with, living or dead.....Deities are excused from this question
Paul McCartney. Dude could tell some stories I'm sure. Plus, my wife would love me forever.
