The Band Perry
Sep 24, 2012
Republic Nashville trio The Band Perry has lent their voices to help the "Give The Gift Of Music" (GTGOM) campaign. They helped to kick-off the "Countdown To The CMA Awards" contest by debuting a brand new video to spotlight the importance of giving and receiving music. The siblings recall how the gift of music from their parents was the best that they could have received.
"I remember the first time Reid, Neil, and I ever sang in three part harmony, we were on a family vacation out in the wild, wild-west. It was really late one night and mom had the driving shift ... The three of us kind of huddled around her to keep her awake and figured out how to sing in three part harmony. It was such an amazing life-changing moment," said Kimberly Perry.
The contest is asking fans to share how a specific nominee's music for the 2012 CMA Awards has affected their life. The participants can talk about an artist's song, lyrics, performance, etc to explain how they have been inspired. The winner will receive $1,000 two tickets to the 46th annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 1st in Nashville, TN. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive special Country music gift packages.
The Band Perry is currently staying busy travelling around the country on both Brad Paisley's "Virtual Reality" tour, and headlining some of their own shows. The trio also just received a nomination for "Vocal Group Of The Year" for the 2012 CMA Awards.
"It is an honor for us to be nominated in the CMA "Vocal Group of the Year" category. We don't take anything for granted. We always strive to work hard and do our best. Country Music is the peoples' music, we are humbled to have the opportunity to play it," said The Band Perry.
