"Come to Me" is the second single released from the band, Goo Goo Dolls. It is off their latest and tenth album, Magnetic and began hitting radio on July 23rd.
"I'm so proud of our new album," says John Rzeznik. I've had such a great time and learned so much from the amazingly talented people who worked on it with me." He continues, "I think that positive energy comes across on the songs. Writing and recording Magnetic changed my thinking about making music and doing it in a fun way."
Originally from New York and formed in 1986, Goo Goo Dolls members include guitarist and vocalist John Rzeznik, bassist and vocalist Robby Takac and drummer Mike Malinin. They are most known for their successful 1998 hit song "Iris". In October 2012, it was ranked #1 on Billboard's "Top 100 Pop Songs 1992-2012" chart. Taken from the City of Angels soundtrack, "Iris" spent nearly spent nearly 12 straight months on the Billboard charts and held the number one position on the Hot 100 Airplay chart for 18 weeks. Other notable and popular singles include"Name" from 1995's A Boy Named Goo, "Broadway", "Black Balloon" and "Slide" from 1998's Dizzy Up The Girl, an album which produced five successful singles, and "Here Is Gone", "Sympathy" and "Big Machine" from 2002's Gutterflower. The Goo Goo Dolls have had 14 top ten singles on various charts, and have sold more than ten million albums worldwide.
The Goo Goo Dolls are currently on tour, which will last through the fall (after which Rzeznik will go on his honeymoon). This will be a co-headlining tour with Emblem/Atlantic recording group, Matchbox Twenty.
