The former college football player turned singer -songwriter, Sam Hunt's latest single is entitled "Take Your Time". Released via MCA Nashville/Capitol, the song is on his debut album "Montevallo". The song became Hunt's second consecutive single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The single features some genre-bending spoken-word phrasing in the verses. "Montevallo" brings together a wide variety of diverse influences, including country, R&B, pop and rock.
Hunt was a quarterback for two years at Middle Tennessee State University and two years at UAB where he majored in philosophy. After graduating from UAB in 2007, he was invited to training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, his football career failed to take off and he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music in 2008. Sam Hunt got his start writing hits for other artists, including Kenny Chesney's 2012 hit "Come Over," Keith Urban's "Cop Car" and "We Are Tonight" for Billy Currington in 2014. That same year he released an EP titled "X2C" which led him to put out a full album.
From now until November, Sam is busy touring throughout the US with Lady Antebellum.
