Take A Moment And Make A Moment!

This January, I received the news that I would be able to go on a treatment break, the first in over two years! I've often said - if you didn't know I had cancer, you wouldn't know, because I've learned to become selfish. When I'm sick, I check out, but the moment I feel better, I get back out there! It's hard at times to work inside a radio station, because the cognitive effects of chemo have taken place, and I can tell you how to run a radio station, but if I had to write a report about it, it would take a week! That's hard for a guy who was at the top of his game in all areas of life!
Since January, I spent a week in Miami watching my Cubbies open up against the Marlins, I came home and flew to Denver for a celebration of life, then back home for a few days, and on to Hawaii to see my childhood friend renew his 10-year wedding vows. I then came home for a couple of days, negotiated and moved into a new place, then spent a day at home and off to the WWRS, then on to Austin for iHeart Country Fest, and then finally home for just a couple of weeks!
Last week, I flew cross-country to the WWRS to speak twice to discuss this article! The flight was rough; I was beat up, had shooting pains in my body, but it was all worth it, because after one of my speeches, a 30-year old woman walked into my arms and cried, because her mother is battling a difficult circumstance!
If all that came from this was that one interaction, that one conversation, listening to and seeing this girl cry because of her tragedy and telling her it was going to be okay, it was all worth it!
It's cool now to say 'I'm being present' -- but are you? Are you looking for opportunities to truly make a difference? I don't mean a #1 weekly or #1 add week; I mean seeing someone at the gym, your child, or someone who is going through a rough time and taking a moment. Look for an opportunity, see someone who needs just a second, and make that moment everlasting! Do it every day, and it'll become part of who you are, and when life's tragedies hit you, you'll know how to deal with it! #IBelieveInMiracles
