EMMIS Urban AC WRKS (98.7 KISS FM)/NEW YORK is giving back to the community and kicked off the holiday season collecting over 1,200 coats during their 9th Annual KISS Cares Coat Drive in partnership with the NEW YORK CARES COAT DRIVE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9th at REGAL CINEMA in UNION SQUARE.
KISS FM made it a family affair and broadcast live throughout the day with SHAILA, DJ QUA, TOYA BEASLEY, LIL NAT, BUGSY, MICHAEL BAISDEN, GEORGE WILBORN, MIKE SHANNON, CHUCK CHILLOUT, LENNY GREEN, RALPH MCDANIELS and ED LOVER. Along with the entire KISS FM family in the house, this year’s KISS Cares Coat Drive had a host of special guests including neo-soul star, ANTHONY HAMILTON, CARL THOMAS, MISS BLACK NEW YORK 2012, SELENA WATKINS, ESSENCE MAGAZINE's Editor-in-Chief CONSTANCE WHITE, President of the NAACP, BENJAMIN JEALOUS, old-school hip-hop legends, TREACH from NAUGHTY BY NATURE, REGGIE REG from THE CRASH CREW and many others.
"We all complain about what we don't have, but we go out and waste money on stuff that we don't need," said ANTHONY HAMILTON. "At times like this, I just think if somebody is there to take care of somebody else, then that’s less people doing without."
