CBS RADIO Sports WFNZ-A (THE FAN)/CHARLOTTE, NC held its Magical Toy Drive last FRIDAY at the WFNZ Dog House to benefit THE SALVATION ARMY OF GREATER CHARLOTTE. Over 525 new toys were donated and hundreds of dollars were raised; they will go to THE SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS FUND, which will service over 7,000 families in need this holiday season.
The Magical Toy Drive followed the Street Turkey’s canned food drive, an all-day broadcast held on the WEDNESDAY before THANKSGIVING, which raised money and awareness for the SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF METROLINA and LOAVES AND FISHES FOOD PANTRY. More than $16,000 were raised, doubling the number of turkeys at 420. The station also held a coat drive on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2nd, which generated over 700 coats.
"Our listeners never cease to amaze me," WFNZ OM/PD DJ STOUT said. "We are thankful for our community partners and appreciate our listeners for the donations and support for the families that will benefit from these programs."
