CUMULUS MEDIA Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES has officially announced its new on-air lineup, effective JAN 3rd -- and unlike what GARY LYCAN reported in the OC REGISTER (NET NEWS, 12/16), GERALDO RIVERA is not part of the lineup.
As reported earlier, DOUG MCINTYRE will return to morning drive with former KFI news reporter TERRI-RAE ELMER as news anchor and co-host. Billed as "the youngest major-market talk show host in the country," JOHN PHILLIPS, will assume the 9a-noon shift. (Last week's OC story had PHILLIPS doing 9-10a with GERALDO manning 10a-noon.)
SEAN HANNITY's syndicated show will air from noon-3p; "The Sage from South Central" LARRY ELDER, heads back to afternoons from 3-6p. Syndicated MARK LEVIN will air from 6-9p, with PETER TILDEN'S humor-laden show running from 9p-midnight.Handling overnight will be 'Red Eye Radio' featuring GARY MCNAMARA and ERIC HARLEY.
"This revamped schedule is a great way for KABC to start the new year," PD JACK SILVER said. "The new lineup puts all of KABC’s incredibly talented hosts into time slots that highlight their strengths."ALL ACCESS asked SILVER about RIVERA's status. His reply: "Stand by for news on that part of it ... GERALDO debuts in NEW YORK CITY on JANUARY 3rd."
