Texas Translator Sold, Will Give KWEL/Midland An FM Simulcast

FIRST VENTURES CAPITAL PARTNERS, INC. is selling FM translator K296FG/MIDLAND, TX to CDA BROADCASTING, INC. for $60,000. The station will rebroadcast the buyer's Talk daytimer KWEL-A/MIDLAND.
In other filings with the FCC, GOFORTH MEDIA, INC. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for FM translator W279AT/LOXLEY, AL, W295AJ/JACKSON, AL, W258AQ/CITRONELLE, AL, and W227AP/LUCEDALE, MS so it can have "time to complete the evaluation of current operations and review the available options for providing effective and efficient service to the public through its use of translator stations." The stations went dark in NOVEMBER 2011.
DAVID DE LA HUNT's NORMIN BROADCASTING CO. is selling the construction permit for a new FM in RED LAKE FALLS, MN to TOR H. INGSTAD's IOWA CITY BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. for $100,000 ($15,000 initial payment, $35,000 at closing, $50,000 in a promissory note).
FORUM COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY Talk WDAY-A/FARGO has been granted a move of its transmitter to allow it to increase to 10,000 watts fulltime. NORTHPINE.COM's UPPER MIDWEST BROADCASTING reports that the station, presently non-directional during daytime hours and directional at night, will utilize different directional patterns day and night from a site near BARNESVILLE, MN, 25 miles southeast of its present site.
And TRIBUNE CO. has filed an application for the pro forma transfer of its broadcast license subsidiaries from its present structure to LLCs, both as Debtor-in-Possession. The move, part of the restructuring of the company as it inches closer to emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, moves its only radio property, Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, along with sister CW affiliate WGN-TV, from WGN CONTINENTAL BROADCASTING COMPANY to WGN CONTINENTAL BROADCASTING COMPANY, LLC.
