CBS affiliate KKTV (TV)/COLORADO SPRINGS Sports Dir. JESSE KURTZ has been added as color commentator on AIR FORCE ACADEMY football broadcasts, replacing the late LEE DOUGLAS, who passed away in FEBRUARY at 57.
"We're very excited about the addition of JESSE KURTZ to our football radio broadcast crew," AIR FORCE Dir./Athletics Dr. HANS MUEH said. "He's established himself as one of the top news broadcasters in our area and has a vast knowledge of AIR FORCE athletics. JESSE joining JIM ARTHUR and JAY RITCHIE gives us a tremendous team."
"We're very excited to have an award-winning journalist join the AIR FORCE-IMG broadcast team," said rights holder AIR FORCE IMG GM BRANDON FORBIS. "JIM ARTHUR is one of the best play-by-play announcers in the business and we believe JESSE's contributions to the broadcast will deliver an exciting product to AIR FORCE fans listening around the world."
"I am tremendously honored to have an opportunity to play a role in the broadcast of AIR FORCE Football," said KURTZ. "The team and institution represents everything that is right in college athletics. I am also honored to shoulder the responsibility of maintaining the legacy left behind by my good friend LEE DOUGLAS. It is my goal to make LEE proud of my efforts."
AIR FORCE football airs on a network headed by CUMULUS Talk KVOR-A/COLORADO SPRINGS.
