Congratulations to INTERSCOPE recording artist PHILLIP PHILLIPS, who saw his single "Home," post a 472% sales increase (!), and rocket from #47 to #1 on the BILLBOARD Digital Songs chart with 228,000 downloads. "Home" is also #1 on iTUNES.
This makes PHILLIPS the first AMERICAN IDOL winner since DAVID COOK to have a top selling song in his first year after winning IDOL.
"Home," which got a major bump when it was used by NBC during coverage of Women's Gymnastics, actually sold more units in its debut week (6/9) with 278,000 downloads, but was held out of the top spot that week by... you guessed it: label mate CARLY RAE JEPSON's "Call Me Maybe."
