CUMULUS MEDIA NETWORKS is launching GERALDO RIVERA's new syndicated show TODAY (8/13), as previously reported (NET NEWS 7/11). The 9a-noon (ET) show, previously heard in local versions for CUMULUS Talk WABC-A/NEW YORK and KABC-A/LOS ANGELES, debuts on 45 stations TODAY with at least an additional 15 committed to adding the show in the coming months. Among the charter affiliates, other than WABC and KABC, are CUMULUS Talk KLIF-A/DALLAS and JW BROADCASTING Talk WCFO-A (NEWSTALK 1160)/ATLANTA.
“I’m thrilled that just as the nation hurtles toward the highly charged and hard-fought 2012 presidential election, I’ll be coming on the air nationwide. Fasten your seat belts,” said RIVERA. “With AMERICA divided along red/blue, right/left lines, I hope to occupy the militant middle and be a referee between ideologies. Everyone is welcome on the radio show, and the conversation is no-holds-barred.”
"With the political season in full gear and GERALDO in full radio mode this is the logical time to take his successful local radio shows and make them a single live product available nationally," said CUMULUS EVP/Co-COO JOHN DICKEY.
