FCC Fines Florida Station

NEWMAN MEDIA has been fined $3,200 by the FCC for unauthorized operation of Oldies WDSR-A/LAKE CITY, FL.  The station filed its 2004 renewal application late, and after getting an STA to continue operation, failed to apply for an extension in 2005.  The fine was reduced from $7,000 because some of the violations, including the late application, came prior to one year before issuance of the Notice of Apparent Liability, and a further reduction was made due to a history of compliance with the rules.

In addition, the Commission proposed a $1,000 fine against BALL STATE UNIVERSITY for missing quarterly issues/programs lists at noncommercial WWHI/MUNCIE, IN.
