WNIR Picks Caller 'Couch Burner' As New Host

MEDIA-COM Talk WNIR/AKRON has chosen a former caller as the late HOWIE CHIZEK's replacement for weekdays 10a-3p and SATURDAYS 9a-noon.  JOHN "COUCH BURNER" DENNING will take over as host of the show, which CHIZEK hosted for many years before his death in JUNE; other than calling into CHIZEK's show, DENNING has no radio experience and is a local business owner pursuing a Ph.D. from the UNIVERSITY OF AKRON.

The move was first tipped by OHIO MEDIA WATCH and the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL and confirmed in a release on MONDAY (8/13) and a report at ABC affiliate WEWS-TV.
