Former KQED President Tony Tiano Dies

ANTHONY (TONY) TIANO, who served as President of KQED INC., the operator of noncommercial Talk KQED-F and PBS affiliate KQED-TV/SAN FRANCISCO, in 1979-93, died SUNDAY at his NEW MEXICO home from complications from myelofibrosis at 71.
TIANO also worked at PBS affiliates KNME-TV/ALBUQUERQUE (while attending the UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO), WHA-TV/MADISON, and KETC-TV/ST. LOUIS. More recently, he was President of independent public TV program producer SANTA FE PRODUCTIONS.
