PENN STATE football and men's basketball will not be heard on HALL COMMUNICATIONS Sports WLPA-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 1490)/LANCASTER, PA this season, according to a report at WHYY/PHILADELPHIA's NEWSWORKS.
The affiliate decided to drop the NITTANY LIONS broadcasts in the wake of the JERRY SANDUSKY case, and Program Coordinator SUE SENSENIG told NEWSWORKS that "It was a hard sell, and now with the situation that they found themselves with, it just made our decision make even more sense."
SENSENIG added that the station has not received complaints thus far but noted, "I don't think they are going to realize until the first day of the season. And if we don't get any complaints. that also tells us that PENN STATE doesn't really bring the audience to us."
